Jimmi is a qualified teacher and producer. He has an honours degree in music which included sound technology, theory, arrangement, performance and composition. He is currently in the final stages of completing a PhD in the field of cross-cultural composition in music. Jimmi’s received the Dean’s Medal for his undergraduate degree and the University Medal for his honours degree. He also received the APRA award for highest mark for performance of an original piece.

Jimmi has been working in studio production and engineering for a number of years, with several successful projects under his belt. Jimmi mixed and produced the latest Jimmi Carr Band album and the releases by his electronic/rock crossover band Innamech in his own studio as well as co-producing most of his previous albums. Jimmi has also produced releases for other acts including Blue Mountains band InLarm’s recent EP and done mixing and mastering for acts including hip-hop artist Sinic.
Jimmi has a comfortable, purpose built studio at his home in the Blue Mountains. The studio is well equipped with recording hardware and software, instruments and amps (available for recording), listed below.
PRODUCTION / MIXING RATES: $50 per hour or $300 for an 8 hour day. EP and Album packages and soundtrack / sound design jobs negotiable on a case by case basis.
MASTERING: $60 per song or $500 for a full album up to 12 songs

Jimmi has been teaching one on one lessons in drums, bass and guitar for 15 years including two years teaching at Nepean District Music Academy. He has also taught songwriting masterclasses at institutions including The Northern Rivers Conservatorium of Music and is currently on the casual teaching roster at Western Sydney University for music performance. Jimmi has also run group workshops for bands.
TEACHING RATES: Beginner to intermediate lesson in Drums, Bass and Guitar – $60 per hour or $35 per half hour. Songwriting and production tuition in Ableton Live also available at the same rates. Band workshops – $100 per hour. This includes help with songwriting, performance and arrangements
